Results of Investigations into Toxic Soil Vapor Intrusion in Gowanus

The ongoing Gowanus Soil Vapor Intrusion investigation being carried out by the NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation has sought access to more than 1,600 buildings in our neighborhood but has managed to access and test less than 23% of those properties. Across the two completed years of the study, an average of more than 10% of the tested properties have been found in need of mitigation to eliminate intrusion
